The Archive is trying to identify the author of a short typescript
found in Benardetes files — a students summary of the plot of Aristophanes Birds, beginning as follows: Two men come on stage, each carrying a bird. The most extraordinary thing about the beginning is our ignorance as to their identities.

and Statesman, originally published in three parts as The
Being of the Beautiful, has been reprinted (Fall 2006) by the
University of Chicago Press in a single volume
of the same name.

Calum Carmichaels Ideas and the Man: Remembering David Daube has been published by Klostermann Verlag. Daube was a thinker and scholar whom Benardete greatly admired.

an essay by Michael Davis, appears in The Political Science Reviewer,
Vol. 32 (2003), 8-35. The Political Science Reviewer is a

Anima, held at the New School in the spring of 1993, is currently
underway at the Archive. Audiotapes of the lectures

was held on December 5 and 6, 2002 at The New School University,
under the auspices of the Philosophy Department.
Seth Benardetes translation, with Michael Davis, of Aristotles
Poetics was published in May, 2002, by St. Augustines Press of South Bend, Indiana. The book is
entitled Aristotle – On Poetics (ISBN
